Salt Lake City, January 2010 Dear Colleagues, Last year, we – the employees, my family and our distribution partners across the globe – celebrated Ultradent’s 30th birthday. Being somewhat nostalgic about this, it seemed the perfect opportunity to reflect on our history. The field of dentistry has developed dramatically in the last three decades. Minimally invasive procedures are now the expected standard, though we still unnecessarily sacrifice too much precious enamel and dentin. Adhesive technology has revolutionized every practice and I’m proud to say that we have provided valuable contributions in this aspect. Producing our own syringes, tips and other types of applicators has allowed us to offer what we’ve discovered to be superior delivery of quality products and hence facilitate “practice-oriented systems” to be the optimal. In the early 1980s, Ultradent’s laboratory, production center, warehouse, and office – basically the entire company – was housed in the hay barn beside my house. Last year, we opened a large production site alongside our main facility in South Jordan. Today, Ultradent houses more robotics than any other company in the Western USA.* Our company, founded as a “family business” in the truest sense of the words, now employs more than 850 people who are part of the “extended” Ultradent family. Throughout the years, we’ve remained committed to, and passionate about, facing challenges head on and developing new solutions. In 2002, Ultradent pioneered LED broadband polymerization technology, and last year we took another step forward with the unsurpassed, tried and proven VALO, which exhibits a superior performance and ease of use for the clinician. Although our “core values” have remained unchanged for 30 years, they are still a priority for all of us. “This is the best time to be a dentist !” We’ll uphold our contributions so you can say this to your patients – and mean it. Best regards from Utah, Dan Fischer P.S. I am proud of my homeland, Utah. Every year our employees participate in a photo competition. The winning photographs are displayed in this catalog. * With the exception of the automobile industry
