Today, the main focus of a tissue management system has shifted increasingly towards restorations and adhesive systems and, at the same time, less traumatic preparation techniques have emerged and less bleeding has to be managed. Minimally invasive techniques are commonly used today. Often enough, cutting down the teeth is no longer necessary, or immediate for adhesive dentistry. Composite restorations help to preserve the hard tissue and avoid the need to repeat treatments. In light of this, hemostasis continues to be important, but sulcular fluid control became more important still. Known for a long time as a retractant, aluminum chloride has gained renewed attention, as aluminum chloride gels applied with the Dento-Infusor Tip were found to be more effective than liquid formulations, which can only be used for soaking cords. In addition, a clear gel was found to be especially useful in the esthetic zone. 47
