Use Ultra-Blend plus as a thin cavity liner prior to placing either composite or amalgam, and for pulp capping with reversible pulpitis. Black Mini Tip Black Micro Tip Use Ultra-Blend plus for near pulp (pink) and small non-hyperemic exposure. For larger exposure and/or hyperemic pulp, endodontic therapy should be initiated. Disinfect the cavity with an agent containing chlorhexidine, such as Consepsis. Do not rinse. With Black Micro Tip, first apply Ultra-Blend plus Etch and bond as per Peak LC Bond System, to dry dentin at exposure border (or over thin PQ1 or PermaQuick Bonding instructions and pink dentin); cover exposure and light cure. restore with composite. Minimize dentin coverage to maximize available dentin. If pulp exposure or near exposure occurs, inform patient about risk of developing an abscess at that tooth at some later stage. A pulp capping does not provide “guaranteed” protection, however, in-vivo studies have shown that pulp capping procedures performed according to this protocol, and with the materials described above, is associated with the highest success rates. !
