R E S T O R AT I V E Luting of crowns and inlays with PermaFlo DC QUICK STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE Ultra-Etch PermaFlo DC Primer A & B PermaFlo DC 35% phosphoric acid gel, blue, good wetting properties, easy to rinse off Application with Blue Micro Tip or Inspiral Brush Tip Primer system, specifically for dual-cure PermaFlo DC Application with Black Mini Brush Tip Flowable, dual-cure composite, for luting and restoration Components mixed in Mixing Tip; direct application to the restoration Check the fit on the restoration to be luted. Í Prepare the restoration (crown, inlay) as follows, depending on the material: • Composite: etch the contact surface for 15 sec. with Ultra-Etch (for cleaning), rinse with water spray for 5 sec., air dry. • Metal: roughen the contact surface (preferably by sandblasting), then proceed as for composite. • Ceramic: etch the contact surface with Porcelain Etch for 1 min., then rinse with water spray and air dry. Apply silane, allow to act for 1 min., then carefully air dry. Í Tooth preparation: Remove temporary restoration and temporary cement. We recommend ICB Brush and Consepsis Scrub. Control flow of gingival fluid and bleeding. We recommend the Tissue Management System. Apply Ultra-Etch with Inspiral Brush Tip or Blue Micro Tip. Allow Ultra-Etch to act for 15 sec.; rinse off, apply an air stream without drying out the surface completely. Í Primer application: Wet the surface thoroughly with Primer A from the syringe, and brush in with Black Mini Brush Tip for 10 sec. Immediately afterwards, brush in a few drops of Primer B on top for 10 sec. Thin and dry the primer carefully for 10 sec. Surface must have a shiny appearance. If it does not, apply both primers again. Í Mix and apply PermaFlo DC (for this indication, usually in the Translucent, A2 or A3.5). Remove the cap from the double syringe, making sure the paste flows evenly out of each opening. Attach Mixing Tip. Apply mixed material directly into the crown or onto the inlay. Í Position the restoration. Allow any excess to escape. Í Remove excess material. Cover luting margins with DeOx. Light-cure one to two times for 20 seconds. Wash off DeOx. If necessary, rework the luting margins; remove any remaining excess from the sulcus and interdental spaces Working time of PermaFlo DC approx. 3-5 minutes, chemical cure in approx. 9-10 minutes. ! 70 This quick guide is intended to provide an overview, and does not replace the instructions supplied with the individual products.
