QUICK STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE
R E S T O R AT I V E Post luting and core build-up with PermaFlo DC Q U I C K S T E P - B Y- S T E P G U I D E Ultra-Etch PermaFlo DC Primer A & B PermaFlo DC 35% phosphoric acid gel, blue, self limiting, good wetting properties, easy to rinse off Application with Endo-Eze Tip Primer system, specifically for dual-cure PermaFlo DC Application with Deliver-Eze Brush Tip Flowable, dual-cure composite, for luting and restoration Components mixed in Mixing Tip; application with Intraoral Tip or Skini Syringe and Endo-Eze Tip Leakproof root filling must be in place. Prepare tooth surface; pre-drill post bed with suitable drill; try in root post. Í Adapt root post – depending on the make and material – and pretreat as stated in the manufacturer’s instructions (if necessary, sandblast, etch, silanize and apply bonding agent). With the UniCore post system, only adapt the length and clean with alcohol – no pretreatment required. Í Etch the post preparation walls and coronal aspects of the core preparation: Apply Ultra-Etch with Endo-Eze Tip. Allow Ultra-Etch to act for 15 sec., then rinse out/off the gel with a water-filled syringe and Endo-Eze Tip. Í Blow all the water from the preparation, eliminating any pools of water. Leave the surfaces slightly moist. Í Primer application: Brush Primer A from the syringe into the post preparation walls and coronal aspects of the preparation with Deliver-Eze Brush Tip for about 10 seconds followed by brushing the same with Primer B. Use only a few drops of Primer B. Í With a TriAway Adapter or a larger empty syringe (5-10 ml) with EndoEze tip attached, blow all the primer from the post preparation and coronal preparation. Using the empty syringe like an air pump, or the TriAway, move volumes of air from the depth of the post preparation outward until the post preparation is totally dry. Any residual liquid A and B primer left in the post preparation will work like a catalyst and can cause the luting composite (next step) to polymerize before one can position the post to place. Assure the presence of a shiny surface (quality hybrid layer). If not shiny, repeat Primer A and B application and thoroughly air dry once again. Í Mix and apply PermaFlo DC luting and core composite (for this indication, usually in the shade Opaque White; for a light-conducting root post, also A2 or Translucent): Remove the cap from the double syringe; make sure the paste flows evenly out of both syringe openings; attach Mixing Tip. Either attach Intraoral Tip to the Mixing Tip and apply the material directly into the post preparation, or deliver PermaFlo DC into a Skini Syringe, attach Endo-Eze Tip to the syringe, and apply PermaFlo DC into the post preparation. Í Press root post slowly into the post canal, allowing the excess material to escape. Place the curing light on the post and light cure 10 seconds. Í Build up the core by applying more PermaFlo DC, either with the Intraoral Tip or from the Skini Syringe, around the end of the post in portions/ layers; stabilize by light curing each portion for 2-3 seconds. Working time of PermaFlo DC: approx. 3-5 minutes, chemical cure in approx. 9-10 minutes. Í Prepare the finished core build-up; take an impression of the finished preparation. !
