For instrumentation of root canals, a Patient Pack with 8 instruments is sufficient. If you want to instrument the Apex additionally to a certain size, use the hand instruments in the Apical Finishing Pack.
ENDODONTICS Endo-Eze AET THE TECHNIQUE The AET system is a unique combination of different instrumentation techniques: a modified crown-down technique for the coronal access and middle third, and a step-back technique for the apical third. The AET system defines three phases of root canal instrumentation: Coronal (access) preparation Access preparation is accomplished using regular diamond burs. Safe-ended Endo-Eze Access Burs are recommended for access opening without perforating the cavity floor. Middle third Endo-Eze Shaping Files of progressive rigidity are used in the reciprocating (30° right/left) Endo-Eze handpiece to instrument the mid portion of the canal (canal length minus 3 mm). The files are used against the canal walls to remove the pulp tissue and shape the existing canal without unnecessarily changing its anatomical shape. Shaping File Apical instrumentation The apical segment, the last 3 millimeters of canal length, is usually circular in cross-section. The manual Endo-Eze Apical Files are used in a step-back instrumentation technique to working length. The Apical Files have cutting flutes only in their front third to minimize breakage and ensure that tactile feel is only derived from the apical canal. Apical File Lubricants and disinfectants such as File-Eze, EDTA 18%, Citric Acid, and sodium hypochlorite, are continuously used during and after instrumentation. The fine NaviTips are the best choice for accurate delivery of these chemicals. 83
