ENDODONTICS EndoREZ ® Two materials cannot occupy the same space at the same time. In dentistry many times one of the materials is air. To achieve a predictable seal and fill the canal preparation, the canal not only requires hydrophilic materials but also air displacement. Application from the bottom up is bubble-free and fills completely. EndoREZ “listens to the need of the tooth and canal preparation.” EndoREZ is applied out of the dual barrel syringe with mixing tip into the back of a Skini Syringe (usually 1/3 of a Skini Syringe is more than adequate to fill a multi-rooted tooth). Fill syringe to back flange so no air remains between the plunger and the EndoREZ. Put a NaviTip 29 ga in the appropriate length. Express a small amount of EndoREZ extraorally to verify flow. Sequence for Obturation with EndoREZ 1. Dry the canal space using the Capillary Tip and Luer Vacuum Adapter followed by paper points for 1-2 seconds each (point should be damp only 1-3mm at tip). Trial fit master cone into the canal ensuring apical tugback. 2. Using a NaviTip on a Skini Syringe filled with EndoREZ, insert the tip to 2-4mm short of the apex. Express the EndoREZ slowly while withdrawing the NaviTip. 3. To avoid bubbles, keep end of tip buried in the EndoREZ while withdrawing. Inject EndoREZ until it is seen at the top of the canal. 4. Insert the master EndoREZ Point to length and, if necessary, additional accessory points. #25 are recommended. No “condensation” is necessary. EndoREZ will set in the canal in about 20-30 minutes. Surface can be light cured for easier immediate coronal restauration. Courtesy of Prof. Paul Lambrecht EndoREZ is applied by a NaviTip bubblefree till the apex. After applying, insert the master point and, if appropriate, additional accessory tips. SEM analysis of EndoREZ penetration demonstrates an affinity for moisture deep in lateral canals and dentinal tubules, and therefore, creates a tight seal.
